queen is taken ill with stomach bug at windsor - absorption of water
Buckingham Palace said last night that the Queen had to cancel her planned trip to Wales after suffering from stomach problems.
She will board the train from Windsor to Swansea for a military celebration during the celebration of St. David's Day, but after being assessed by the medical staff, she is advised to stay at Windsor Castle.
According to the British national health insurance system, stomach problems are most often caused by norlike virus or food poisoning.
Infection interferes with one of the main functions of the intestines: absorbing water from the contents of the intestines into the body.
Further assessments are expected.
The palace said the Queen would spend the weekend in Windsor "as usual" while monitoring her medical condition.
