MIAMI (Reuters)-A 55-
A gallon barrel with depleted uranium was found near a dismantled plane in Miami.
The Regional Airport was briefly evacuated on Thursday, but officials said it would not pose a threat to the environment.
Uranium was found on old aircraft components that have been broken down and put into a container in the Opa
Mara Berg, spokesman for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, said the Loka Executive Airport.
"Someone disposed of the plane improperly," she said . ".
The parts contain 238 of uranium, a material used for aircraft navigation, Berg said.
Miami spokesman Lieutenant Arnold pedrashita said there were no reports of injuries, and the hazmat team sent to the airport found only the lowest levels of radiation.

The airport handles some minor traffic for Miami International Airport and provides aircraft maintenance and repair services.
