A chemical leak occurred at a nuclear facility in southern Sydney and three people have been admitted to hospital for treatment.
On Friday morning, at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organization in Lucas Heights, about 250 of sodium hydroxide spilled from the pipeline.
A spokesman for ANSTO said three staff members had been taken to the hospital for observation.
The spokesman said the incident took place in a nuclear pharmaceutical manufacturing building unrelated to the OPAL nuclear reactor.
