These observations reveal a range of preservation styles: impressions of the footprint almost the entire area, a portion of the footprint, unlike the diffuse impressions of the polygon skin texture that shows the foot in the footprint.
The skin impressions observed in this study may help to understand the preservation conditions of the skin impressions of dinosaur footprints, and the reasons for their rarity, despite the presence of many dinosaur footprints around the world.
